5 September 2023: TCEB and the EEC Office are holding EEC Cluster Fair 2023 to encourage and attract investment into the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The fair will be running from 6-8 September 2023 at Nongnooch International Convention and Exhibition Center, Pattaya.
The EEC Cluster Fair 2023 is the collaboration of Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Office, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand, the Federation of Thai Industries and the Tourism Council of Thailand. The fair is held as part of the trade shows - Maintenance, Industrial Robotics, and Automation (MiRA) and Subcon EEC 2023.
Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, stated that, TCEB, together with the EEC Office and partners representing the private sector, will be holding the EEC Cluster Fair 2023 with the “Sustainable Destination Robotics, Automation and Beyond” theme, from 6-8 September 2023, at Nongnooch International Convention and Exhibition Center, Pattaya (NICE). The event will feature the exhibition and trade fair related to the target S-Curve industries within the EEC area before holding a planned bigger version “EEC Expo 2025.
“TCEB has good and steady co-operation with the EEC Office with the aim to expedite MICE as an essential tool in driving the economy and distribute income to local communities. The EEC is a high potential area with the increasing rates of tourists, business travellers, investors and expats. Additionally, the EEC has Pattaya as a potential and fully-equipped MICE City. In the future, TCEB will upgrade Pattaya MICE City to play a bigger role covering the entire EEC area as part of the support for the advancement of the EEC.”
Mr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary General of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) stated that, EEC Cluster Fair 2023 and EEC MICE Fam Trip provide a good opportunity to raise the understanding of investors, media and the public on industrial development that doesn’t neglect local communities and environment. In the EEC, we adopt and apply innovation and technology in both management and manufacturing. We have multi-organisational collaboration in the skill building of the manpower who will be handling the emerging development. We have launched initiatives to attract investment in the targeted industries into the EEC. All these components are creating economic activities that will drive the country’s development and lift up the quality of life of the communities on a sustainable basis. EEC is, thus, a key strategy of every Thai government in the restructuring and reviving the national economy which has been trapped in the middle-income status for decades.
To reinforce EEC Cluster Fair 2023, TCEB is holding the ‘EEC MICE FAM TRIP: New MICE Experience, New EEC Perspectives’ to create new MICE experiences by embracing site visits that showcase EEC’s target industries. For example, EEC Automation Park or the centre for the development of manpower, innovation and learning of industrial robot technology at Burapha University, and SNC Former Public Company Limited (SNC), which is the hub of comprehensive products and services for automobile industry, coolers, electrical appliances and electronics.
The programme will also include special experiences created through the design of MICE routes or Thailand 7 MICE Magnificent Themes. For example, ‘Nong Pla Lai’ Community where MICE travelers can immerse themselves into traditional way of life of the farmers of the eastern region. The visit to ‘Piya Silapakan Museum of Art Pattaya’ will bring visitors to enjoy the portraits of King Rama V. The museum is, however, adjusted to serve more functions. This includes indoor exhibition rooms, café, art school and outdoor stage. In addition, a story-telling session about life of small-scale fishermen will be held for more enjoyment for the experience with seasonal and cultural local dishes at the Chef’s table Exclusive Dinner by TCEB X Pladids.
