TCEB Launches MICE Data Platform Leveraging Big Data for Int’l Competitiveness of Thai MICE Industry

TCEB is for the first time launching "MICE Data Platform" to drive Thai MICE industry towards enhanced international competitiveness on a sustainable basis. The platform features data that is instrumental to operating business. 

Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, revealed that the MICE Data Platform is a crucial tool for collecting, analysing, and presenting valuable data to entrepreneurs and stakeholders in the MICE industry. This project is part of the three-year (2025-2027) strategic plan with the goal of creating a data ecosystem, promoting data utilisation in the MICE industry, and enhancing data governance.

MICE Data Platform has the following key features and services:

• Interactive Dashboard with Smart Data: This is where data is collected from various sources, both domestic and international, such as the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, ICCA, WEF, GDS, and CEIC. Hence, it displays statistics on the Thai MICE industry, provides a comparison of industry potential with other countries in the region, and offers analyses of situations related to the industry.
• Data Connection with Travel Link: It is a collaboration with the Big Data Institute (BDI), the developer of the Travel Link platform, in order to connect with tourism data for more comprehensive information.
• In-depth Insight Reports: Analyses of data for more friendly and efficient utilization. 
• Open Data and API (Application Programming Interface) Services: Provision of open access for interested parties to utilise and scale up their business.

This platform targets stakeholders in the MICE industry, both public and private sectors, as well as entrepreneurs in other related industries, such as telecommunications, finance, and research.

To launch the MICE Data Platform, TCEB holds a discussion on the topic of "MICE Data Platform: Transforming the Thai MICE Industry with Big Data," featuring three guest speakers: Dr. Jaruwan Suwannasat, Chief Information Officer (CIO) of TCEB; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tiranee Achalakul, President of the Big Data Institute (Public Organization); and Mr. Pakasit Wattana, Chief Technology Officer of United Information Highway Company Limited. The discussion, moderated by Mr. Sutthipong Kuruhongsa, Vice President of the Data Management Association (Thailand-Bangkok) & Founder and Group CEO of Digital Dialogue, focuses on the direction and opportunities of the MICE industry in leveraging big data, as well as data transparency and security in the digital age.
